Purpose and Scope

This is an independent information site. It explains documented routes to public resources concerning Summit County booking, jail, court, and related records. It is not a government office, a Sheriff service, a jail operator, a court clerk, or a Utah Department of Corrections service.

The site stores no official government records. It cannot confirm a person’s custody status, confirm a release, release anyone, submit a document, modify an official record, or decide what an agency or court will do. References to outside record sources and research tools are offered for general informational use only.

Acceptable Use

You may use the site only for lawful, personal informational purposes and in a manner that respects other people’s safety, privacy, and legal rights.

• Do not use the site in violation of any law, regulation, court order, or legal obligation.
• Do not use information from the site to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
• Do not make a decision about hiring, firing, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated screening purpose from site content.
• Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its systems, a partner’s systems, or another user’s information.
• Do not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, bulk-download tools, or similar automated means without prior written permission.
• Do not interfere with, overload, damage, or disrupt the site or another person’s use of it.

Consumer Reporting and FCRA Limits

Summit County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the FCRA. It does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertisers and search partners do not provide FCRA-covered screening through this site. By using the site, you agree not to use information from it for any purpose regulated by the FCRA, including the following:

• Making a hiring, firing, promotion, reassignment, or other employment decision.
• Screening a tenant, evaluating a housing application, or setting housing terms.
• Determining creditworthiness, lending eligibility, interest terms, or insurance premiums.
• Deciding eligibility for a license, permit, government benefit, or government program.
• Any other purpose that would make the information a consumer report or otherwise fall within FCRA restrictions.

Outside Links and Services

The site may link to jail listings, booking-related resources, Sheriff or corrections pages, government portals, legal-information resources, and outside search services. Those destinations operate independently. We do not control their content, availability, privacy practices, data handling, results, or terms of use, and a link does not constitute an endorsement. Review the terms and privacy policy of every outside service before using it.

Information Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty, express or implied, about the site or any information reached through it.

• We do not warrant that information is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose.
• We do not warrant uninterrupted access, continuous availability, or error-free operation.
• We do not warrant that the site or a linked service will be free of defects, harmful code, or security issues.
• We do not warrant the completeness, timing, or result quality of a partner-provided search tool.

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing on this site is an official statement from a Sheriff office, jail, court, corrections department, or government agency.

Limit on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Summit County Busted Mugshots and its owners, operators, contributors, and partners will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or other damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site, its content, or a linked service.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Summit County Busted Mugshots and its owners, operators, contributors, and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the site or your violation of these Terms & Conditions.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the site’s original text, graphics, design elements, logos, and code are owned by Summit County Busted Mugshots or its content partners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from those materials without prior written permission, except where law permits a limited use.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on the site. Continuing to use the site after a revision means that you accept the updated terms.

Access May Be Restricted

We may suspend, limit, or end access to the site at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice. This includes access that we reasonably believe is inconsistent with these terms, unsafe, unlawful, or harmful to the site or other users.

Utah Law and Venue

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or the site must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Utah.

Severability

If a court finds a provision of these Terms & Conditions invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or adjusted only as necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
